RESTORE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

We will have the most efficient and best managed city in Virginia.

If I am asking the school system to be effective with their dollars, then it is essential to do the same with the city’s administrative offices. To begin with, I will ask all department heads to trim the waste and excess spending.  My office will not be immune from this directive.  

The first month of my administration will be designated, “Stand Up For Efficiency and Excellence”.  Every department will be asked to look deep into their budgets and determine how they will shed costs.  This will include re-training employees to find waste and abuse and achieve cost savings. To achieve competence in governing, we must get our fiscal and financial house in order.
